Ribbon and Seashells

Every time I go to the beach I collect shells like a little kid :) I've collected a lot of shells, probably too many, from my trips to the Outer Banks with my fiance. I'm going to use these shells I've collected and tie them around the doors at our reception site, the Saltaire, with this pretty aqua blue ribbon.

Caution Wedding Planning

The sign hanging outside my crafty room :) There has been some serious wedding planning taking place lately. I can't believe tomorrow is August, this means our wedding will officially be next month! I almost don't want tomorrow to be here. We have a lot of stuff left to do but we've also gotten a lot of things done. A little while ago I made a list of all the things we need to do for the wedding and it was eight pages long! Now it's a little over four pages. It's a very detailed list that includes everything we possibly need to do from the alcohol to our wedding website and everything in between. I will be so excited when I can cross the last thing off the list!

Seaside Paper Lanterns

Our reception is going to take place outside under a tent this September. We have these pretty seaside paper lanterns from Martha Stewart in two different sizes that we are going to hang from the ceiling of the tent. Now I'm just trying to figure out what color ribbon to tie to the lanterns :)

Guest Book Inspiration

image from Martha Stewart via Bem-Casadas

This is the picture that inspired our guest book. I love everything about the details from this wedding. All the beach inspired details are just simply very pretty. For our wedding we are going to have two large hurricane vases. One labeled wishes for the bride and groom and one labeled wishes for our guests. We will have small white cards and envelopes for our guests to write their wishes to us in brown ink :)
Here are a few of the wishes for our guests:
"May your time be filled with relaxing sunsets, cool drinks and sand between your toes."
"May the most you wish for be the least you get."
"I hope you always have a shell in your pocket...and sand in your shoes."

Pretty Lanterns

Yesterday we came home from my fiance's cousin's wedding to find a package at our front door from my mom. It was filled with twelve of these pretty aqua blue glass lanterns. Today I took one and carefully placed it on one of our trees outside. My idea is to place a white Garden Rose in each lantern. Then I'm going to hang them from the trees where our ceremony will take place in the garden at the Saltaire in the top picture. I can't wait to decorate!

Weekend Wedding

This weekend my fiance and I attended his cousin's wedding in Annapolis, Maryland. It was a really nice wedding and everyone had so much fun at the reception! I discovered that my fiance's family are all serious dancers and everyone was on the dance floor pretty much the entire night. There was even an impromtu dance off including a knee slide done by his cousin and soon to be groomsman. I'm not much of a dancer, so I think I need to practice my moves before our wedding :)

Sugar Seashells

At our wedding we are going to have cupcakes, just very simple chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with white frosting. I think these would be so pretty placed on top of the cupcakes, maybe not every cupcake but maybe every other one :)

The Elizabeth Anne Designs Library

This morning Elizabeth Anne Designs announced the launch of their new project, the Elizabeth Anne Designs Library. I spent some time there this morning and it's amazing! It's going to be such a great wedding resource for brides everywhere!

Sand Ceremony

As part of our wedding ceremony we are going to include a sand ceremony. These are the small aqua blue glasses we are going use to hold the sand before we each pour our sand into the small hurricane vase. Since our ceremony won't take place on the beach we are going to use sand from the beach where we got engaged just a few minutes away from where our wedding will be.
{The aqua blue glasses are stemless champagne flutes I found at Crate and Barrel for .99 a piece!}

My Showerette Invitation

This weekend I received an invitation from my mom and sister for my "showerette", (a term they created especially for my combination bachelorette party and shower :) I love the invitation my sister made from Martha Stewart's Seaside Invitation Suite.

Off To the Beach

We are off to the Outer Banks! My fiance and I are going to surprise some of his family visiting Duck, NC from New Jersey. We are also going to try to do a few wedding things while we are there this weekend too like deciding on our cupcakes, our menu, and hopefully meeting with our day of wedding coordinator that was the best gift from my sister and her boyfriend :)

The Boutonnieres

I finished the boutonnieres today! I used super strong glue from the hardware store to attach the bar pins from Michaels to the starfish. It was a little tricky at first, but after a few tries I'm really happy with how they turned out. Now they are just drying outside in the sun :)

Fun Flip Flops

I just got a surprise package from my friend in Connecticut! Now I have some fun flip flops to wear after the wedding :)

Garden Roses

I was looking at FiftyFlowers.com to figure out the number of flowers we should order and I discovered these Garden Roses. I am in love with these flowers! Now I'm not sure if we should have these or Gerbera Daisies. I think these would be really pretty in our aqua blue mason jars.

Something Old, Something New...

My something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. My something old and something blue will be the flowered handkerchief that was my grandmother's and the monogrammed handkerchief my fiance's mom gave to me. My something new will be my dress, it has pockets so I can put a handkerchief in each pocket. My something borrowed will be the shoe clips my mom wore at her wedding. My mom gave one each to my sister and I. (so technically I'm borrowing a shoe clip from my sister :) Then when my sister gets married it can be her something borrowed too!

My Favorite Martha Stewart Wedding

images from Martha Stewart via Bem-Casadas

This is my favorite Martha Stewart wedding of all time! I think this is from the Martha Stewart Weddings 2005 spring issue.

It's Official

This morning we got our marriage license! I was surprised it only took a few minutes. We filled out the online marriage application last night and went to the Register of Deeds to pick up our license today. This is a picture of the pretty keepsake version :)

Starfish for Boutonnieres

I am making the boutonnieres for our wedding. These are the perfect starfish my fiance's mom found for us. Now I need to find some pins and attach them to the starfish. It sounds easy, hopefully it is :)

Martha Stewart Weddings Summer Issue

I'm so excited the new Martha Stewart Weddings summer issue is finally at our grocery store :) This is the last issue before our wedding. I have a feeling it won't be the last one I will be inspired to buy :)
