This week I was really excited to get this CD from the Flashdance. I love music and have always listened to everything (when I was little my dad was in a Doors cover band :)

The Flashdance is such a creative site filled with amazing photography and cool music. For anyone getting married they are an endless source of inspiration! :)

Our Wedding Soundtrack

One of my favorite compliments from our guests was how much they liked the music at our wedding :)

For our CD favor we just used simple white CDs and clear cases that we found at Target. Then I just embellished the cover with a pretty Martha Stewart sticker {my sister's idea}. We picked songs from every part of our wedding and created our own wedding soundtrack. I still listen to this CD in my car and I love it!

Here are the songs we chose for our CD:

Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
Do You Remember by Jack Johnson
Summer Wind by Michael Buble
Let's Call the Whole Thing Off by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong
Better Together by Jack Johnson
Pirate Looks at 40 by Jack Johnson
Lucky by Jason Mraz featuring Colbie Caillat
Stick By You by Andrew Lipke
Beyond the Sea by Bobby Darin
Ain't That a Kick in the Head by Dean Martin
Touch the Sky by Kanye West
Making Memories of Us by Keith Urban
Let the Good Times Roll by B.B. King
Summer Love by Justin Timberlake
Splish Splash by Bobby Darin
Jailhouse Rock by Elvis Presley
Wooly Bully by Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs
Mambo Italiano by Dean Martin
It's Tricky by Run-D.M.C.
Love Like This by Natasha Bedingfield featuring Sean Kingston
Hit the Road Jack by Ray Charles

Reception Music

{remote Eric used to start and
stop the music at our wedding}

Eric picked the music for the reception and during the music picking process there was a lot of impromptu dancing in our kitchen :) We both love music and listen to everything from country to rap and everything in between. I asked Eric how he picked the songs and this is what he said :) "So I spent most of the time thinking about how other people would feel or think about the songs, and making sure the two of us would like it too except for the slow songs which you and I both picked. Then it was just about if we liked it and if I like what it said about us :)"

Here are some of the songs Eric chose for the reception:

Beyond the Sea by Bobby Darin {our first song}
Me and Mrs. You by Michael Buble
A Wink and a Smile by Harry Connick, Jr.
Let's Get It Started by the Black Eyed Peas
What I Got by Sublime
Walk This Way by Run-D.M.C.
Forever by Ben Harper
Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Dwight Yoakam
All Shook Up by Elvis Presley
Jump, Jive, An' Wail by Louis Prima
My Love by Justin Timberlake
Glamorous by Fergie
The Twist by Chubby Checker
Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison
Maybelline by Chuck Berry
U Can't Touch This by MC Hammer
When the Stars Go Blue by Tim McGraw
In Da Club by 50 Cent
At Last by Eva Cassidy
Hit the Road Jack by Ray Charles {our last song}

Dinner Music

After the cocktail hour we had our first dance to Better Together by Jack Johnson. We were lucky enough to have Eric's cousin {also one of his groomsmen} be our announcer for the wedding. He was amazing and so much fun! Halfway through our first dance we had our bridal party join us. Then everyone found their tables and my older brother, my sister, and the best man gave their toasts. They were the perfect mix of sweet and funny :) Then we had dinner!

Here are the songs I chose for the dinner music:

Cocktail Hour Music

As I picked the music for our wedding I looked at it as creating our own wedding soundtrack. I listened to every song and listened to all of the lyrics. I was a little detail oriented :)

Pre-Ceremony and Ceremony Music

Picking the music for our wedding was really a labor of love. We handpicked all of the music from the pre-ceremony to reception music. I picked the pre-ceremony, ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner music and Eric picked all of the music for the reception. To play the music at our wedding we used iTunes and rented a pa system and speakers along with a microphone and stand to use for announcements and toasts.

Here are the songs I chose for the pre-ceremony and ceremony music:

Eleven Years Ago

Eleven years ago Eric and I first met in September. We were neighbors in this apartment building while we were both going to school in Boston. Eric lived on the top floor and I lived on the first floor with one of my best friends whose also one of my bridesmaids. I can't believe how quickly time goes by.

"Do you remember when we first met? I sure do
It was some time in early September
...Well I was crazy about you then and now
The craziest thing of all, over ten years have gone by"
by Jack Johnson

This is the song we are using for our recessional, I like to pretend Jack Johnson wrote this song for us :)
